DIY Floral Garland
This project was a labor of love and took much longer than I expected, but I’m absolutely in love with the end result!! I like the Yin Yang spacing/concept for a zen office vibe.
- I started by laying out the garland on a table to see how long I wanted it to be. Then I took two of the eucalyptus garlands and secured them together with floral wire. This is to give the garland more body. For a natural look, I secured the two together in five locations to reduce gapping. After I secured with the floral wire, I covered the wire with floral tape. (Note: I ordered a floral arrangement tool kit on Amazon that had the wire cutter, floral tape and floral wire for $12. Linked in my LIKEtoKNOW.it profile.)
- Next I grabbed my larger flowers and identified where I was going to place them on the garland. I used the floral wire cutter to remove the stems, but left about an inch on the stem to make it easier to attach to the garland.
- I attached the first flower using the floral wire. After it was securely attached, I wrapped the wire with the floral tape. I fluffed the flowers and moved the leaves around to try to camouflage the tape. Sneaky! ?
- I then completed the previous step for all of the remaining large flowers and repeated with the smaller flowers until my first garland was complete!
- Since I wanted two separate garlands for the Yin Yang look, I completed steps 1-4 again to make a second garland.
- I secured the garland to the wall with 3M Christmas light hooks. You may want to grab a helper to assist with placement, or I recommend buying extra stickies for the hooks for readjustments. ?
- Enjoy!!
